Thank you Freecycle!
I'm not sure if you all know what Freecycle is, but you should see if there is a local group in your area. Usually, I am not quick enough but Thursday night I saw a posting for a Power Wheels Pontiac Solstice and I jumped on it for Gaius. Check out his new ride:

It seems a bit too soon for driving lessons, but to our surprise, he pretty quickly started getting the hang of the car. Of course, he still needs to practice, but the sheer joy on his face is priceless. He kept begging to go back outside and play with his "Monster Jam"...

One Step Closer....
There are several projects that need to happen before this baby comes in July:
1) Brad's office (desk, computer, etc) needs to be moved downstairs
2) All furniture for the nursery needs to be assembled. This includes re-assembling the crib and the two pieces I purchased for a lamp table/extra storage.
2b) Part of this was a plan to strip an existing dresser for Gaius' room so we can reclaim the baby dresser we've been using for him since he was born
3) Put away all clothes I've been collecting and set up the changing station with diapers.
4) Set up crib with bedding
5) Finish with all nursery decorations
6) Fish out all the old baby toys and set them up in various places around the house (which means we have to re-arrange some of Gaius' toys)
We are proud to finally announce that 2b is complete. We should have taken before pictures (and I promise to take after pictures soon) but we stripped that dresser and it was so GORGEOUS underneath - we didn't even bother staining it. I swear it looks like something from Pottery Barn!!!
Stay tuned for more updates and eventual pictures....

This mornings awkward conversation....
Scene: At the potty
Gaius "Let's pee mom - c'mon!"
Me "I can't pee standing up, sweetie. Mommy doesn't have a penis - I have to pee sitting down."
Gaius "You don't have a penis? Let me see in your pants!"
Me "No - that's mommies private area. Boys have penis' and girls don't"
Gaius "You don't have a penis - only a body?"
I ignore this comment.
Gaius pees. "You're turn mom!"
I sit down and start peeing.
Gaius "See - I told you you have a penis!"
Oh boy.

A Beautiful Spring Day in March!
Since it was such a gorgeous day outside, we decided to take a walk across the Norwottuck Rail Trail Bridge. Gaius was very excited and had a great time looking at the water, the birds and all the people walking and biking across with us.

He was a little petrified when it came to taking a picture on his own by the side, so we didn't get very many shots.
Here's a shot of the length of the bridge. Gaius did a great job walking the bridge one way - almost .3 miles. Brad had to carry him the other way since he was tired....

After dinner, we had some alone time. It warmed my heart to see him do interpretative dance to A Perfect Circle; I just had to video some of it:

Lock it in...
After much wrestling, we have decided on what we will name our newborn daughter. We hope she likes it, 'cause she's going to have to live with it :)
Althea Rose Turner
Having that settled allows us to move on to other things, like planning out the nursery. This time, we do not have an empty room to fill up. We somehow have to kick Brad out of his office and relocate it to our downstairs guest bedroom. So not only do we have to plan the nursery, we have this room to deal with as well.
Happy happy joy joy! The clock is ticking...

It's a GIRL!!!!
We took Gaius with us this morning to our Ultrasound appt. He did tell the tech that he wanted a girl. I nearly fell off the table when she said "Yup, it's a girl." I'm still in shock. I cried. Here she is

Pics weren't so great this time, but she is doing great and I am doing great, besides the growing lack of real estate in my stomach. I keep tearing up everytime I think about GIRL. Gaius having a little sister. Some more female energy around the house. We are so super excited, especially since I had all but convinced myself that we were having another boy.
Stay tuned for the name....
