Progress : Part 1

Our AWESOME new ceiling fans. We had wanted fans with lights, but since we have 7.5' ceilings, it was not meant to be. Oh well...

Had I known that the electrician coming would be the motivator behind Brad moving his office downstairs, I would have bought the fans MUCH earlier. Nonetheless, that is done --- CHECK!

And bonus for the weekend, Brad's friend who was generous enough to lend/give us a crib when Gaius was born was up and helped Brad assemble that, so that is another item to cross off the list!

We did arrange and fully assemble all other components of the nursery, including taking the rocking chair and dresser out of Gaius' room. Next steps for the room are sorting and putting away all of the babies stuff and decorating. More pics to come...

Thank you Freecycle!

I'm not sure if you all know what Freecycle is, but you should see if there is a local group in your area. Usually, I am not quick enough but Thursday night I saw a posting for a Power Wheels Pontiac Solstice and I jumped on it for Gaius. Check out his new ride:

It seems a bit too soon for driving lessons, but to our surprise, he pretty quickly started getting the hang of the car. Of course, he still needs to practice, but the sheer joy on his face is priceless. He kept begging to go back outside and play with his "Monster Jam"...

One Step Closer....

There are several projects that need to happen before this baby comes in July:

1) Brad's office (desk, computer, etc) needs to be moved downstairs

2) All furniture for the nursery needs to be assembled. This includes re-assembling the crib and the two pieces I purchased for a lamp table/extra storage.

2b) Part of this was a plan to strip an existing dresser for Gaius' room so we can reclaim the baby dresser we've been using for him since he was born

3) Put away all clothes I've been collecting and set up the changing station with diapers.

4) Set up crib with bedding

5) Finish with all nursery decorations

6) Fish out all the old baby toys and set them up in various places around the house (which means we have to re-arrange some of Gaius' toys)

We are proud to finally announce that 2b is complete. We should have taken before pictures (and I promise to take after pictures soon) but we stripped that dresser and it was so GORGEOUS underneath - we didn't even bother staining it. I swear it looks like something from Pottery Barn!!!

Stay tuned for more updates and eventual pictures....
