Gaius's First Chanukah!

December 4th was the 1st night of Chanukah.

When we lit the menorah, Gaius was fascinated by the flames and Jen's beautiful singing in Hebrew.

After lighting the candles, I gave Jen her present, which I actually managed to surprise her with. In case you are wondering, it is a (very nice) professional blender. We have been married 6 years now (together for 12), I have earned the right to give appliances, so lay off!

Remember the family of rabbits that was living in my yard (probably not, but I needed a transition sentence)? A few weeks ago they went missing. I have been wondering what happened to them. Now I know:

I think this red-tailed hawk ate the rabbits. I spotted it perched in a tree, surveying the yard. Looking for more tasty bunnies, I'm sure.

That is a beautiful picture. I am so glad I saw it before we left. Hopefully next year we can be together to enjoy Chanukah. Love you all. Mom
